I usually can't study because there's something on my mind. Like, I need to call someone, get something to eat, take a shower, etc. I've found the only way that I can study is if I do everything on my little mental list first. Then, I grab something to eat, go to the bathroom, etc. That way I can just focus. I turn on some classical music, close the door to my room and relax on my bed with highlighters, textbooks, notes, etc. I then spend about a half hour studying. Since I have an extreamly short attention span, too, I usually then go do some other things or work on other homework, and then return to studying. Good luck! Just concentrate on being focused.

I make flash cards and take lots of notes in a notebook. Than I study them over and over again.

What helps me study and concentrate:
On my desk
the lights on
My door closed
silence
Some chips and a drinkat my desk ( keeps my brain focusing when I eat )

I agree it is hard to focus because you are so focused on the test and focused on doing well so your mind is on that, not studying. Just every 5 minutes take a break and review. Don't worry, I'm sure you will do fine!

Good luck!

P.S don't slack off, I'm sure you won't, but don't!

If you get easily distracted, you might want to relax a bit, try some breathing exercises do this in a quiet place, take a couple of deep breathes. If you can't really clear your head, try to focus on a picture to help you relax as you breathe.
Go to a quiet place with no distractions and take small breaks in between studying.
Some people have an over active mind and concentrating can be hard to do, you might want to do some yoga to help you balance your mind with your body. Meditation can help.

Go to the library where it is quiet, bring only things that are vital to studying and turn off your cell phone and ipod. Limit all distractions. Bring an apple or granola bar just in case.

I find that when i study at home, i'll get up for ice cream or check peoples' away messages more then study. Too many distractions!

I imagine the exact things what I am studying about. Apply my own thought about it and then match both the things(what you studied and what you think). Sketching it on paper would greatly help.
And I set targets,as studying 1 course in a day(at any cost I have to complete it) with absolute dedication. If I miss the target then I get sad fr the whole day so setting up tasks works for me too.

Best of luck for your test,
Ck.

sit at a table in a quiet area. Read the material over twice. Take a 5 - 10 minute break. Go back make up questions on the material. Take a a break. Then answer the questions over and over again. The key is to take breaks if you cant concentrate. If you are concentrating well dont take a break.

I just studied for the first time since like a few years ago, you could turn on music, or anything that relaxes you, also you could play a memory match game, if your doing capitals you could just print out the state on 1 card and on another card write the capital or say the word out loud over and over and try remembering that way, don't say it in your mind because you will forget, if you say it outloud it helps better.

Read the material through. Answer any questions at the end of the chapter or section. Look up any highlighted words so you will remember them. Answer any questions in the margins that may have a main idea in them. Write down important items on a separate piece of paper. Go over it again.
