i've been overweight, all my life, but i never gained so little weight as when i went to college. theres so much walking to do all over campus when youre in college. how could kids gain weight? lol

ah is that it? i've been getting my own food pretty much all my life. so thats why i put on teh freshmen fifteen as a high schooler instead of college student i bet

Usually, going to college means more drinking and less homecooked meals.

Even if you don't drink, the food you eat instead of the homecooked meals is more often than not crap. You tend to eat more fast food and individually portioned cheap meals that aren't as good for you.

I somehow avoided the "freshman fifteen" as well, but I think it's because I knew about it and made an effort to avoid it. I kept nothing but healthy food in my apartment.

They go to school and drink beer every weekend and put on weight!

They're on their own for the first time so they go crazy ordering pizza at all hours of the night, just basically unhealthy eating.

IMO the freedom to eat/DRINK and do whatever they want is too over powering for their limited ability to differenciate right from wrong.
