Ok The US Gestapo is just about here...In order to board a plane, train or bus, to enter a Federal building, or at any Checkpoint they erect anywhere, you will be required to "Show your papers". By May 2008, the Federal Gov has ordered the State Gov's to comply. They will be able to use GPS to track your whereabouts, your monetary activity, and much more. These "ID" cards are supposed to hold your MEDICAL records as well...What else will they have? Arrest record? School Transcripts? THIS IS A VIOLATION OF YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS!!! DO NOT ACCEPT A NATIONAL ID CARD!!! EVEN IF IT IS YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE!!!

Umm desertviking, until May 2008 your Military or other "National" ID card didnt have a RF chip in it. Whats with having a GPS locator in your ID? I dont have a tinfoil hat you jackazz, I am informed, and I am concerned about what is happening. if you arent informed that shut your piehole and keep your smartazz answers to yourself. We've had to show picture ID to get into Federal Buildings for over 10 years now. Where've you been? Updating the form of the card to match today's lifestyle and make it more efficient would be a good thing, not a bad thing. How much more big brother could it be than DMV and Social Security already are? I would much rather have one card with all the info in it than multiple cards from multiple accounts that aren't coordinated with each other and cause delays. And it should be plastic and have a swipey thingy. I'm not afraid of big brother. I'm not that special.

One of the great things about the U.S. is that as citizens we've never had to "show papers". I'm afraid this is going to change.
People are so willing to give up their individual rights. The U.S. will lose its uniqueness and citizens will lose their privacy.
It's not the government's business to know who we are or where we are at all times.

What load of mule muffins! I've carried two national IDs for most of my adult life. One is a military ID card and the other is a U.S. Passport. I've never minded showing either one of them when called upon to do so. But, unlike you, I have never owned a tin-foil hat!
