You probably will not need to report for duty until after the holidays. Looks like you will be home for the holidays, so let loose of some of that cash and start buying Christmas presents ! Enjoy this holiday, it may be your last one at home, for awhile !

Take some time to be with your family if able. Work out, stay in shape, try to get to the base library (if around one) and do some reading on what you will be studying. Get ahead of the curve and stay there. Competition is everything. You want the good duty station? Finish 1st in your class.

You will go to A school and do indoc, which takes a week or so. After which they will send you on Xmas's leave for two weeks. This will put you in negative leave days through.

what ever you do DON'T TAKE THE LEAVE., this will put you in the hole for vacation days, Remember you only get 2.5 days a month for vacation ,stay and do the watches, or what ever they ask it easy duty, but the lure of going home for Christmas, is always tempting

This happened to me. Welcome to "Holdover company".
It was a "holding co" for those whose order haven't come through, or they're waiting for their next assignment to call them.
They are picked for a daily work assignment, some are gravy, others are , well...........
You are assigned in the usual military manner, " you, you and you."
I once drew KP in the WAC area. "Ladies, when I call attention, I want to hear 100 -----slam shut!?
If you have any leave time, now's the time to use it.
