Or why are atheists suckers?
I don't know how many religious people you have met but I will admit the weak point or the strong point (depending on your point of view) is trying to see the best in people.
A do not think that the very wide experience of many people involved with religious institutions is an indication of gullibility.
No i'm not going to try to tear you apart

I don’t believe religious people are gullible. They have a faith, but that doesn’t make them gullible.
If you look at the world we have slowly been transforming from faith to science. You have to look at this objectively and see what science has been offering up. Most of their facts change day to day. Now that is what I call gullible. Most of the religions have been the same for 2000 years. The best science in the world at one point said the earth was flat and the moon was made out of cheese. The most gullible people in the world are those that Buy Microsoft products and expect them to work.

They are not!
If they were they would follow the sheeplike tendency of atheists, who are willing to believe anything that so-called scientists say, so long as they say it often enough and loudly enough. Who believed that Piltdown Man was an apeman? or Nebraska Man? or Southwest Colorado Man, or Orce Man? Scientists said they were definitely apemen, the atheists agreed.
Everyone found out later that the scientists had not only fooled themselves by their own wishful thinking they had also fooled those willingly gullible dupes, the atheists. Pildown Man was a fake, Nebraska Man was the tooth of a pig, Southwest Colorado Man was the tooth of a horse, and Orce Man was the skull fragment of a donkey!!!
Religious people gullible? The words 'pot' and 'black' come to mind.

Why do you say this? I'm not gullible, I've researched what I believe in books and through other people as well. I can feel in my soul what rings true and what doesn't. Why are you so judgmental. You know you have 3 fingers pointing back at you, and only one pointing at those you question. You will be judged by the standard you use to judge.
Blessed Be

Religious people will always look for the good in everything and all people, in my experience they can be just as knowledgeable and indeed wary of all and everything around them, in this I do not include the great percentage that are prepared to use religion and it's cover to gain power and riches and a facade of respectability honesty and respectability.

I'm often gullible. But I am not religious. I think I quite like people who are imperfect. I seem to be better (in real life) communicating with those who don't hide behind a pretence.

The most religious person I can think of is Jesus.
He was not gullible.
I am not gullible.
It seems that you are taking on the beliefs of many in here (answers), I wonder if you ever read the bible for yourself.
Now who's gullible.

It's like anything else, when you have a desperate need you listen to many things hoping for the answer, then you learn to "weed" it all out
same as going to a Dr when you have a problem
or a psychiatrist
or a counselor
I am not "religious" but am a child of God and you learn to discern as you search and grow

Do you mean why do we have faith? Because we have met Jesus.
Actually I am very well read, I have looked at the arguments for and against Christianity and the claims of the Bible. Coming from the presupposition that God exists (because I met him) I have not read anything that can disprove my beliefs. The facts fit the Bible more than any other world view.
Gullible people believe what they are told......Christians believe what they know to be true.

Why do you think they are? Your question, albeit misspelt, infers they are stupid. I can assure you they are not, have you ever checked the educational qualifications of any priest etc?
You only have to look at the world round about you to know it was created by a highly intelligent and caring being. Beleiving in this being is not difficult, not beleiving is the difficult bit.
Open your eyes and you will see what all the 'gullible' beleivers see, you may surprise yourself.
