The highest paid occupation is no occupation. Work for yourself, become an entrepreneur. The benefits are rewarding beyond belief; financially and mentally, and everyone enjoys seeing their ideas turn into realities. If you have any ambition in becoming a self-made man/woman, who creates your own personal wealth and lifestyle, then begin young.
One example would be to:
Start a lawncare/painting/snowplowing service with used cheap equiptment. Hire friends to do door to door sales in the area, with the incentve of receiving minimum wage plus $1 for every estimate that your employees get for YOU, THE OWNER. Hire other friends to conduct the actual labor and you can oversee the entire process. Collect material costs upfront from your customers to ensure you have enough to finish the job.(Put a strong emphasis on studying what it will cost to do the designated job) This in paticular may not be what you are looking for, but something as simple as this can be the beginning of your quest for complete financial freedom and self-accomplishment, and a project like this at a young age will also help you understand your client base, marketing, how to manage and run a business, and how to input an idea in which becomes a reality. This will give you experience worth knowing, (in which can be used on resumes and make for a fantastic interview) as well as show you that you can make money for yourself without making it for someone else.

I hate money. If I didn't need it I'd burn it. Society is so materialistic. If you get a thrill out driving a nicer car or a bigger house then you need to get a life. The less you have the less cleaning and throwing out you'd have to do. Grissly Adams, now wouldn't that be the life? Now back to your question. Anything that will advance you to CEO is the best paid occupation. The next best is become a Government office holder. Political speeches pay a lot.

yes'm. Gotta wear a safety harness when I'm up high, always wear leather clothing and cover every inch of my skin, wear a respirator, safety glasses, auto darkening helmet, don't stand in wet spots, don't get wet, when the visor is up don't look at other people welding, always check the MSDS, and make sure that if I'm gonna be under heavy objects only being held up by a crane, the operator knows that I'm going to haunt him until he dies and then drag him to the deapest depths of hell if that thing drops on me. Oh and make sure to never operate a wire wheel near my stomache... almost gutted myself twice that way.

Well actors and footballs players make the most ,
But , what someone else makes is irrelevant because if you do not have those skills ,
Then you will be poor .
There are poor lawyers , doctors , dentists . . .
All kinds of poor people in highest paid occupations because the dummies went into just because there was high pay .
Someone forgot to tell them , you only get high pay if you are really really good .
And the people picking jobs because of pay ,
Are usually terrible at it because they were so dumb ,
They thought that was all it was about .

Mob defense attorney...doesn't last long though. Any profession can be lucrative. Witness frat boys in hedge funds siphoning 20% "trading profits" + commisions/bonuses. When the SEC changes rules, watch the sinking ships for deserting rats. Try your hand at hip-hop/creating clothing line...Jay-z worth $$$. Good luck
You'll find money can't buy much good.

Owning an oil refinery, or buy and sale real estate. Perhaps you should attend a Donald Trump seminar on how to achieve wealth. If wealth is what your seeking, though passion must be included in the equation.

It's not an athlete - someone signs their checks.
Financial advisers, venture capitalists, corporate raiders - they're making the big money. Real estate and development would be close behind.
