Are you also using a soft-bristled brush?

You may want to try a different brand for one week. If there isn't any change, schedule an appointment with your dentist for an evaluation.

Best of Luck!

Try a different technique with the toothpaste. If it is only certain areas - such as along the gumline - apply the toothpaste directly onto these areas with your finger and let it sit for a few minutes before brushing your teeth with a soft bristled brush. You can even get brushes marked "ultra-soft" or "sensitive". All the sensitivity toothpastes are essentially the same. The ingredient in them that seals off the tubules that transmit sensation to the nerve is 5 % potassium nitrate. Whitening toothpastes or ones with baking soda are slightly more abrasive and may cause more sensitivity.

If this technique doesn't work by the time you finish the tube (or until you just can't stand it any more), then it's time to visit your dentist. They can paint on a fluoride varnish to seal your teeth, or you may even need fillings or bonding to the exposed areas.

Stay away from Crest Pro-Health toothpaste and rinse, as both have been known to cause staining of the teeth. Go check out the reviews on Amazon or do a google search -- it's a big problem with this product.

Personally I recommend Colgate Total.

If sensodyne isn't working on your sensitive teeth then you might try Oil Pulling dailly. It works! and at the same time makes your teeth whiter and detoxifies the body making you healthier overall.

You can read about it http://www.livingwithrheumatoidarthritis.com/home_remedies.html

Then you will need to see a dentist. As I believe that all the brands of sensitivity toothpaste contain the same ingredients.

Believe it or not I used to use a children's bubble gum tooth paste I guess cause they are mild? Dunno but it worked, Oh yeah and use warm water to brush that helps too.
