Just to clear up a couple of things.
QANTAS is the way you spell the name of our Australian airline. You'll notice there is no "U".
It's an acronym for Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd.
We don't have alligators they are not native to Australia. The only ones you'll see are in zoos.
Unless you actively go seeking out snakes you'll rarely see them especially in the cities.
Saltwater Crocodiles are only found in the Far Northern Tropics of Australia. Yes, I do remember occasionally there has been a sighting of one in Cairns. It hasn't happened very often and it's not like the alligators in Florida which invade peoples homes and gardens in towns and cities.
I'd tell you more but I'll leave that to others I have to go to work now. It's Friday morning here.
p.s. Referring back to a previous answer, I have no idea how much a prostitute costs here. lol.

It's a continent. It's primarily an English-speaking Nation. Lots of water around it. Prime Minister and Parliament make up the government. Prostitutes cost about AUS$150 per hour and up. The people are fun and are hard, smart workers. They aren't fans of King George Bush. Land vehicles drive on the left-side of the roads. Their worst beers are sold to dumb American consumers. Quantas Airline is their national air carrier. Their immigration laws are reasonable and enforced prior to entry. Local bars make really tasty "Cowboy Phuckers" (it's a local Aussie rum drink). Superb seafood and service; excellent beaches; good wines; friendly people.
Of course, you could have gleaned this info from Wikipedia.

More than most. If you want to read a good book about Australia to whet your appetite read Bill Bryson's "Down Under". Bryson is a well known American writer.
