I don't have kids. but I used to work fast food and when someone would come through with their children in the front seat I would get pissed off.
I don't think a child should sit in the front until they are at least 8, and then even they should be an average weight.
If they are too small they should not sit there.
put it this way if their feet can't reach the ground sit them in the back.

My 7 and 11 yr olds can sit in the front seat. Except on long trips where my 7 yr old sits in the back. Otherwise my 5 yr old sits in the back at all times. She don't mind to much cause she's small and likes the booster seat. She can't see in the front.

I do not let any child sit in the front unless they are 12 years old AND at least 5 ft tall. my kids are neither but my niece and nephew are with me a lot and yes, the younger one is 11 and he gets pretty mad that his sister (12) gets to sit up front and he doesn't! He is already 5 ft tall so in a few more months they will have to take turns! I can just hear the fighting now ....

My daughter is 12, she is aloud to sit in the front once in a while. My son is 9, he is not aloud to sit in the front at all. They both know that you have to be older than 11 to sit in the front, they don't complaint I think because it's something that I have always enforced so it's normal; When ever they ride with anyone else they know where to go.

If I had two children old enough and heavy enough to not have to sit in a booster seat, I would make them take turns sitting in the front seat...just like my mom and dad did with us.
