Where the hell you heard that?? Stephen King may be one of the best authors of horror novels out there but, he didn't write the bible, that's for sure. The Bible is a very ancient book, written and rewritten over hundreds of years.

I know what you are implying but I am a fan of both Stephen King and the Bible... however, though the Bible does have sexual content and violent content, it is no where near as graphic as horror novels or even as graphic as prime time TV. So really, this question is a real stretch.

Maybe if you put all his horror books together under the sub-title, say, The Scary Chapters, and all his sci-fantasy books under the sub-title, The Weird Chapters, bound them both together and sold them as the Ultimate Tome, then it possibly would come close to the bible. It wouldn't surpass it though!

An atheist Stephen King fan

The most disturbing thing about he Bible is that people actually believe it, so far no one has started a cult because of Pet Semetary.

You're talking about a religion that uses fear as it's #1 indoctrination tactic. Take away the fear and this vile religion won't thrive. I agree. The bible is disturbing, disgusting and has no basis in reality.

Nothing could be as graphic and disturbing as the truth in the Bible.

It IS amazing the inhumanity of men against their fellow men when they reject God!

In the worst time of Jewish history, the Bible says it like this, "Everybody did what was right in their own eyes."

That is the message of the Bible - that without God, people are very wicked.

The Bible does NOT gloss over the sins of the people. It even talks about King David's sin with Bathsheba, and his subsequent murder of her husband when he finds out that she's pregant!

But, if you read today's headlines, it's not all that much better. The difference is you have a bias and hatred towards God, so when HE reports the facts, you find fault. If you treated ALL history and newspapers the way you treat the Bible, you would remain in darkness, unaware of the world around you, because that's the world we live in! Just go ask Ted Bundy! As I already pointed out, the Bible says, "Everybody did what was right in their own eyes."

But that's not the end of the story. "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that anybody who puts their trust in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." and "God commendeth His love towards us in that while we were still sinners, He sent His son to die for us, the righteous for the unrighteous". But not only THAT, but "He who knew NO sin became sin for us, so that we could be made the righteousness of God in Him." He traded places with us and took on Himself the penalty for OUR sins!

He has written some very graphic and disturbing things but I can't think of one that tops the Bible, no.
