Since your camera has TTL (aka Off-Sensor Flash Metering) capability you should use flash units that are TTL compatible with your camera.

Since your camera lacks a "flash sync terminal" you'll have to use the off-camera flash cable that attaches to your flash and the camera's hotshoe.

Your camera also can use up to 1/500 sec. for flash.
