That's a myth. As long as you don't overeat you won't gain weight.
You're always hungry because you're replacing one habit with another. Just resist the earge to eat, and you'll be fine. If you had enough will power to quit smoking then you have enough will power to put down the fork.

Your body is craving the nicotine and your brain is signalling the craving to eat. You can immediately gain weight if you eat every time you feel a crazing (many do) or you cannot gain the weight by realizing what is going on and sticking with a food schedule. If you want to gain the weight then you can start to see a good change (like tight pants) by the end of the week.

Be careful what you wish for,as you may just get it and then some. Friend of mine gained almost hundred pounds in 4 months before he finally got it under control. It took him almost 2 years to get down to just 10 pounds over what he was before he stopped smoking!

you only gain weight from smoking if you have either replaced hunger pains with smoking - ( i dont have time to eat let me grab a cigg ) or if you replace cigg cravings with food - wich a lot of people do -

yeah because you want to eat because food tastes better when you're not smoking so you tend to eat more, so it really depends on how much you eat.
