Is is true that the sugar in whole or dried fruit is just as bad for you as table sugar?

Refined sugar has lost some of the nutrients such as chromium as a result of the sugar cane being processed. Otherwise its the same as natural sugar. Refined sugar is otherwise much the same as natural sugar. Table sugar as a refined sugar is a molecule of sucrose and fructose which may have a lower glycemic number than natural sugars.
Americans eat way too much carbohydrates. In that sense eating a lot of natural sugars is just as bad as refined sugar

Sugar is sugar is sugar. Your body processes them the same way. Your body processes honey the same way it processes high fructose corn syrup. It's just that more natural things don't have as many other additives and may still have some beneficial antioxidants in them (in the case of honey).

There is some controversy whether its as bad, but all sugars should be held to low intake.

natural is better it absorbs better in your body. That being said, sugar is sugar, thus small quantities of sugary fruit is better.
