Totally depends on what you've got poundage from, and how your body is shaped. If you're mostly water weight, fat weight, or muscles weight, which all depends on diet, activity, genetics and lifestyle in general, the numbers change drastically since they all weigh different amounts. Plus, the bigger you are, the more girth you have to lose before you drop inches. Not to mention that bone structure can completely defeat efforts in size change. The best thing? Find out what's healthiest for your body, and it will transform into the best shape it can maintain, and then learn to love that. Sure there's measurement standards, but it's unrealistic since all people are different.

In sizes 6-14, 10-15 pounds is a dress size (it varies widely due to women's heights and shapes). In 16-18, roughly 20 pounds. In plus sizes, up to 25 pounds depending on whether you are an apple or a pear shape.
I do not know the differences in dress size in sizes smaller than 6.
