All Scripture is God breathed. God inspired, It is how we live our lives, if not we are no better than the world.
But just as they twisted the word in the days of Jesus, they do so now.

nicely, a pair issues. a million) supply up opposing the Church. that is not any longer perfect "to sell your daughter into intercourse slavery ". The Bible is the Bible because of the fact the Church says so. 2) The Bible isn't a hundred% actually something. It has many genres. tell me this, Why did the two Jesus and Paul no longer turn the different cheek whilst struck ???? Why grow to be Origen condemned for reducing off a physique area that offended. And maximum of all why grow to be St Augustine's admired scripture : The be conscious kills , however the Spirit supplies existence !! 3) present day liberal society isn't what you think of that is. study Newman against the Liberals (25 classic Sermons) by John Henry Newman. Then do the blowhard factor. Oh yeah, merely curious, is 'suitable Contributor' for high quality or for quantity. merely curious.

I embrace it as it is. I have always found it bothersome that so many Christians try and put their own spin on what the text says. I read it and then compare it to what I actually see going on around me in the world, and I've found no problems in reconciling the two in terms of the Bible's contents. It is written that the body of believers should be of mind in the Lord. It is also written 'One Lord, one faith, one baptism", so naturally I can't understand why there are so many diverse interpretations of what the text actually says. It must be because we live in an age where we're told to "question" evrything; be "skeptical" of everything. Being a critical thinker is fine, and reading a text critically is fine, but when they lead to a point where you find yourself actually farther away from an understanding of the very thing that critical thinking is presumably helping you to understand, then maybe it's time to re-evaluate your approach to how you understand the Bible.
For example, in Timothy it says that in the latter days many would depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons; how many people in here (atheists notably) resemble this? And why? Because the Word only took slight root in their hearts and minds. The parables that Jesus gave about the sower and the seed that fell by the wayside seems here, most demonstrably, to be evidence that the Bible is indeed the Word of God and is not open to "private interpretation". The highest measure of any believer's devotion and obedience to God is demonstrated by not twisting His word to suit their particular agenda. Being a "scissor-Christian" in relation to obeying the Word of God is no witness of effective stewardship in the handling of God's Word.

Many Christians have a lower view of Scripture than you, simply because that is the traditional Christian view of the Bible. Your veneration of the Scripture as the complete, innerant Logos of God to man is a very recent development in theological circles, and does not represent conservative (i.e. traditional) Christian theology. I, for one, am not trying to circumvent anything. But I refuse to elevate the Bible to an exalted position that neither the early Church, nor the Bible itself, can substantiate.

Because the Scriptures used by mainstream (the Bible) is 400 years old written by men who were supposedly inspired by God. Men of the church were corrupted long before any of this was written down.
Its best you read with an open mind and heart with A LOT of prayer!

Are you truely a Christian if you dismiss the word? A Christian in progression I guess. and that is stated only because people don't change overnight, and you must be patient with God's people. So if you are changing the meaning of the Bible to suit yourself, hopefully one day, and soon you will stop. God is not going to let you do it for long.

As a Christian, once you realize just how important the covenant of the New Testament is (salvation of the eternal soul thru Jesus, Son of the one true God)...everything else becomes more "small stuff" than anything else.
With God in my daily life, there's really no need or desire to look for "loop holes". God is full of love and mercy.
It really IS that simple.

Outstanding question, I read the Bible just about everyday, I would say you do to, keep up the good work, you and me both know the Bible is the inspired word of God, there is no loopholes, no contraditions, just alot of people who are not saved trying to understand its spiritual meanings. They never will until they accept Christ by faith, Eph 2:8&9, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9, not of works lest any man should boast. Good luck to you and May God Bless!!!

I do embrace it well. And after 2 reading of the OT and 3 of the NT, I embrace it wholeheartedly. Yet the sinful side of me at times still do try to find loopholes. But I find there are none, nor try to find any. What's the alternative? Place my hope in humanity, where "to err is human" is the norm. Now that's crazy. Place your trust in the only perfection of this universe, our Lord God.

You bible thumpers love to quote verses from the bible, verses that were written by ordinary men some six hundred years after Christ. Give us a break.
