You know, if you just moved to Afghanistan, your Taliban buddies would be more than happy to keep you company on this one.

Sorry, I have to disagree with you..."being gay" isn't a "horrible sin". Your statement implies that there are "un-horrible" sins and I don't think God makes a distinction.
Yes, homosexuality is a "sin", but so is heterosexual activitiy outside of marriage, remarriage after a divorce, lust, a haughty attitude, pride, greed, and a whole long list of other things that God doesn't want us to do. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Being gay is a sin yes , it's called an abomination . But God can forgive it and will if the person repents it's like any other sin .....The only 2 sins God cant or wont forgive is blasphemy of the holy spirit and unbelief. If you die as an unbeliever that's it

I myself think that it is wrong for someone to be gay, but ofcourse people have their own opinions!!
As for the person that said..."Any God that will punish you for something that you cannot control, is not worth worshipping", well I think you are very wrong!
I don't know wether God punishes people for being gay or not, but being gay IS something that you CAN control!
I understand that some people may prefer to be with the same sex, but it is not something that comes natural....it is by choice if someone decides to be gay!!
I have heard people say that , they were born a man but they feel in their heart that they are a woman........That is BS!!!!
Maybe you were raised that way or something, but it is not natural!
I mean, if you want to be gay, then that is your CHOICE!!!You have the right to be that way if you like even if I believe it to be a sin!
But don't say that you were born that way, cause that is BS!!!!!!

Being gay is not a sin, but having homosexual sex IS a sin, and an abomination. I have no fear of talking to homosexuals about the sin of homosexual activity in a charitable way. He/she may listen and in so doing I will plant the seed of truth. That's about all I can do. When speaking to gays, I often use my alcoholism as an example. I tell them I have to make a choice:
1) I can say "God made me this way so it must be okay to get drunk"
or
2) I know I'm alcoholic, I know drunkeness is a sin, so I need to check myself.
I apply that same logic to homosexuals: Recognize the wrongness of the activity and don't give in to your weakness. Don't hate homosexuals, just like I hope nobody hates alcoholics. We're all sinners, and we all have particular weakness to a particular sin. The key is to be the master of your weakness and overcome it, and don't buy into the lies of modern society or political-correctness.
I invite people to learn about "Courage" - http://couragerc.net/
"Courage" is an apostolate of the Catholic Church and ministers to those with same-sex attractions and their loved ones. You'll never hear about it in the mainstream media: They have many success stories of people overcoming their same-sex atraction issues, and sometimes even getting married to fellow members of he opposite sex. They are amazing stories - stories which prove wrong the notion that you are just born that way and there is nothing you can do about it.

I consider myself a Christian but I don't think homosexuality is a sin, unlike many of the vices faced today homosexuality was prominent during the Roman empire and even socially accepted, and yet Jesus never once said explcitly that it was wrong, even though he would have been well aware that it was happening.

It's been said that all sins are equally abominable in the eyes of God. Humans are the ones who have demonized homosexuality among other sins.
Do keep in mind that there is no word for "homosexual" in Hebrew.
Anyway, what's it to you? What did a gay person do to bring you harm?

I'm always impressed by the fact that people who claim to be concerned about "sin" are generally talking about someone other than themselves.

No, don't worry. There are plenty of homophobes around, who for the most part have never acutally known an open homosexual. You might even find somebody who's against interracial marriages too.
