I am a cat person too. I like cats because they are independent, agile, clever, clean and pretty. I have not large ammounts of time, which is needed to make a dog civilized. A dog is a wonderful companion if you have the time to realy educate them and also if you are willing it to live in the house. I don't like dogs because they demand much more attention and they smell too. Cats are very clean and low mantainence. Besides I love when they purr and sit on my lap while I read or watch a movie...
Dogs are nice but cats are for me.

here's the breakdown...
Cat and dog owners tend to be very different people. Cats are more self-sufficent in the fact that you can leave for three days, put out a huge bowl of water and food and the cat will be content w/ that. Dogs need to be let out to go to the bathroom and sometimes can be very demanding for attention. However, on the flip side, dogs can be great excersie partners and they don't have a litter box that you have to clean all the time.
It really depends on your preference and what you have time for. I'm both a dog and cat person as I love the "egos" that all cats seem to have like they're almost beneth themselves to have a human be their owner yet they'll cuddle with you at night before you go to bed. Dogs are great because of the loyalty and friendship that they show their owners. Dogs demand more attention whereas cats can take care of themselves for the most part. So if your a single mom working two jobs, getting a dog might not be the best course of action. But if your craving animal attention and have alittle bit of time to devote to one, then a cat might be right for you. But if your working a full time job and find that your bored at night and don't really like going out, then a poochie might be the right companion for you.

cat person...because they are affectionate but not clingy like dogs. They can go do thier own thing as well as interact and play with me. Most dogs cannot play on their own..they always want someone to play WITH them. Also, cats do not need to be walked. Walking a dog is sometimes nice, but is can sometimes become a chore..especially when it it not very nice outside...majorly hot or very cold, or raining! Also, going on vacation is easier if you have a cat...someone can easily stop by once a day to check on them..while dogs would need to go to a boarding kennel or have someone check on them several times a day. Cats are cheaper to keep as well since they do not eat as much. Cats are just cool animals, and more beautiful than a lot of dogs I see. I do love dogs as well as all animals..but prefer cats.

Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against dogs.. I love 'em too!!! But, a dog needs more care - more attention... training, etc.. I don't have the time for that.. Cats are easier - they pretty much take care of themselves - all you need to do, is show them where the food, and litterbox is, and you're good! LOL

easily canines.... cats are so standoffish and extraordinary. They take a seat on the backs of chairs, stairing at you, plotting something. organic evil in case you question me... canines on the different hand are astounding. no rely if their friendly or no longer, they continually in the present day practice you some variety of interest, and you recognize that they are there. they are going to arise, and get to renowned you. they seem to be a lot extra perfect companions - they actively seek for out interest, and that they get a lot extra excited approximately seeing you than cats do. they're additionally extra exciting to play with. Plus once you carry your female chum abode for the 1st time, the 1st factor a canines does is positioned his face in her crotch.... you gotta know that.

Tough Question! I love both species very much, but for very different reasons!
I love cats because they are less needy, easier to clean up after (no cold winter mornings outside!), smaller (only in body size), don't take up so much of the bed, they purr, and they are amazing alarm clocks.
I love dogs because you can take them with you anywhere (car, walking, etc) , they will eat all my leftovers & pre-clean my dishes for me, they go to the bathroom outside, they are needier and come to you on your calling, they "smile", and they make it easier to vacuum by picking up the fallen food.
Both make amazing pets for different owners. I have always preferred to have at least one dog and a few cats so i get the best of both worlds!

Both!! Grew up with dogs and cats (and fish, birds, rabbits, rats, hamsters, turtles, frogs, salamanders...think that's it:)
Only have cats now due to my work schedule and the size of my home. Looking forward to moving to a larger place and getting a dog (or 2).

I'm both. Cats can take care of themselves but come around for loving every now and then.
But dogs always want your loving attention and die when they see you after you went to get the mail.
They both have their pros and cons and i love them both

I am a cat and a dog person. It is possible to be both and love them for different reasons. Cats - their independence, attitude and personalities. Dogs - their sweetness, affection towards humans and their personalities.
