I want to make videos to upload to Youtube, and i heard windows movie maker is good, but i dont want to download this service pack thing, as it is my housemates computer, ill have no problem downloading it when i get my computer in a couple of months, its just now.

does anybody know how to get around downloading the pack? or of any other movie maker programmes i can download to make a video?

also, i dont know which version of Windows is installed on this pc....

there are a lot of movie making/editing programs just depends how much of experience you have in the field. If you are really experienced and can learn programs quickly then i would suggest Adobe Premiere. If not then using Power Director is not a bad idea, it might take you 5 - 10 min to understand how the program works but it is pretty good. You will have to buy it or you can try it for 30 days. There arent any good free softwares out there.

Hi, I can't think of any freeware video editors (you can try www.tucows.com for that), but the way to find what Windows version you have is:

Start button>Run...> type in cmd > Enter > a command prompt window will open> type systeminfo > Enter > the information will come up.
