so if the bible is indeed the word of god, why were so many passages and books completely left out? who's to say what goes and what stays? were they left out simply because they may have seemed contradictory, or did they just not fit with what man deemed to be godly at the time? did those who edited the bible have the holy ghost working through them as well? was he working through them to say, "i don't like that part. take it out." it just doesn't make any sense for someone or something as perfect as god to make a book that needed editing, does it?

Father Onesimus, so you're saying your judgment for what belongs in the bible is better than what god wanted in there to begin with?

Also doesn't make sense that a god would let people edit it.

I agree with you and the most complete Bible should be assembled with all additions missing from books added in multile colored or otherwise stylized text with an annotation at the end as to where they came from and what Bibles they were left out of and when.

I think this would make a good project and be commerically profitable.

I'm not talking about selling it for an outragious price, but a compettive price for a leather bound, no-acid, clean cut book with a supporting Lexicon in the original languages of the source materials that is sold separately, that can be at a higher price.

I'm talking a nice $29.95 Local LAnguage book for the main Bible. A quality book that has the potential to sell 500,000,000 copies over a 20 year period.

It can be copyrighted too sinece it had annotations and typesetting.

It' would be a scholars book.

The Lexicon could sell upwards to $100 in the same binding, written in Ancient Greek, Hebrew, Aramatic, Old English, LAtin and what other langauges are found through research in Bible texts.

Be a nice project.

Make a great Doctorial Dissertation for a Linguist or Ancient Historian or Theologian.

Jesus told the Apostles the Holy Ghost would 'lead you into all truth.' The 'you' in Greek is plural. And I believe that a truly ECUMENICAL council of Bishops in Apostolic Succession is also guaranteed of being lead into all truth by the Holy Ghost. It is just such a Council who decided what books belong in the New Testament Canon, and accepted the Jewish Canon as it stood in Jesus' day.

I have read almost all the supposed 'lost books of the Bible' and have found them lacking.

Thought you'd enjoy the following:

[on the subject of a Bible printing company]

"Yes, that is a great company. I bought one of their large print version (old eyes... what can I say?).
The only thing I don't like about them is they sell foreign language versions of the KJB. I don't think that's right. We know the only true translation is the 1600's version in English.
It's too risky for anybody to translate that into other languages. Mistakes can creep in... and that can lead to heresy. True Christians should only read English."

Before your argument is of any relevance, one must first come to the conclusion that the bible is the word of god. Although on second glance at your query I see you did use the word if.

Do you feel less "clever," knowing that hundreds of people before you on here asked basically the same question?

The Bible isn't a book, it's a collection of 66 books.

If you don't like it, don't read it.

Godspeed

All our relation with words and meanings depends on our interpretation of them. And any interpretation is already editing. So, don't bother... there will always be some sort of editing in everything which is said and written.

it should be edited out because back then, there is terrible things happening and nowadays, we see that something is not right and made "God" to be good. It's all the purpose to be atheist because it's B.S.
