I ate them one time. They were probably weavils, not maggots. Maggots are the worms that eat dead bodies. At any rate, weavils are pretty disgusting, but it's doubtful that you will get sick.

First of all they were not maggots, maggots are fly larve and only infect meat, you had a mealworm moth, it is not dangerous, they often get into a box of cereal, rice, flour or beans, they are common but if I were you if this was a new box from the market return it with your receipt for a refund and alert the management.
I am a former chef and found them alot in some foods when cooking in the trade, in fact I bought a box of cat for for my cats and when I open the box fesh for the store, and about 10 flew out.
Alot of times it is done in processing and they go from worm to moth in a few days, they are not dangerous but annoying, if it was a new box of cereal, they may be in the entire lot and they will take them off the shelf, they did that with my cat food, if it was an oilder one from your cupboard, they are common and get in lay eggs, then develope into the moths or worm like things you saw, toss it and check in all you dry good for them the migrate quickly.

lol no you wont get sick. It has happened to almost all mothers! The little bugs are nothing but protien and found themselves liking the same cereal as you. Ever since it happened to me, I always look at my cereal even if I bought it that day. I am sorry it happened to you.

are you sure? maggots like moisture more or less. but in any case it is just added protein you should be ok. If you want it out of you either throw up or take a laxative.

did you eat a lot of them? hard to guess but i'd say there is a greater than fifty-percent chance that you would get sick.

No, like most insect larvae, they're actually quite nutritious. Try 'em fried, with soy sauce.

But in most cases not necessarily.
