They are not worthless! Cats are great pets that make wonderful companions, I have six and I wouldn't know what to do if i didn't have them! They are intelligent, cuddly, and each have unique personalities. The point is that some people love having them around as pets, much like some people love dogs. You could have asked the same question about dogs and there would be the same answers. You should really get a cat...you'll love having one!

First, why would you ask this question? If you don't like cats, don't get one. To some people the point of them is a very loyal, loving companion. And for some people this may be the only companion they have. Second, it is really not up to you to decide which one of GOD'S creatures serves a purpose. I have a cat and she is like one of the family.

Many cultures especially egyptians, and the philistines worshipped cats, they thought they were pretty cool, and obviously, the buddhist religion sees a point in all creatures large or small.You may not agree with any of these religions, but surely most of us can agree that their viewpoint of cats, of any animal is pretty fantastic.So my answer would be, there has to be a point to everythinng or why would it be here....even cats? P.S I love my kitty, I trust her more than any man, coz she dosen't get on my nerves, and she listens to me when Im upset and gives me a cuddle.To women there's a point to cats then.

cats are lovely creatures and of course they're not worthless. Cats can be so much company they are very proud animals and like to get what they want but that is their personality and they are really cute!

No.Flies and fruit flies are the most worthless creatures on Earth.
Well, let me tell you.Cats are not that worthless.I've never had a live fly in my house thanks to my cat catching them and my cat bravely caught a mouse that was running all around my house.Cats keep quiet and don't bother you and they clean themselves, and cover up their stuff when they crap in the litter box, causing the room not to smell too bad.

Reasons for cats:
1. Companions for lonely humans
2. Effective mice catcher
3. Effective spider catcher ( or any nasty bug or creepy crawly that happens to move within the cats vision or paw!)
4. They have nine lives!
5. Keep you warm in bed

I enjoy cats/kittens very much....... they bring love and joy to many hearts & I do not believe they are worthless creatures, God has a plan for everyone including animals.

OH yeah, right.. because Egypt's existence depended on its grain, and the Egyptians realized that cats kept mice away from the grain.. protecting their food.. Heh.. go figure
Yeah, the superstitious people in the Middle ages thought that cats were witches, so they killed hundreds of them.. BUt then again, around the same time, a third of the population of Europe died of the plague, carried by rats that were overrunning everything..
Heh.. go figure!

Nope. Opossum's are.
I work for a pest control company and you WOULD NOT BELIEVE how stupid opossums are. When we try to set them free from a trap THEY HANG ON AND WON'T LET GO OF THE TRAP. Geeeez...what is the purpose of this animal?
Cats are not worthless. They can make a little old lady (or man) very very happy in their last years - not to mention little kids and everyone in between!

I guess you are not a cat person, I love all my cats (7 of them)
I don't think any of them are worthless. They come to me, when I NEED them and one of them can MAKE anyone laugh, including my husband, who doesn't like cats.
