The answer is NO. See a guidance counselor, a psychiatrist, you preacher/cleric/whathaveyou or talk with a friend/relative. There have always been people of small statue; a lot of them are VERY successful.
A lot of people get overlooked for promotions. A lot of people don't even get hired in the first place, except for the most menial of jobs.
But, face it, the higher you go, the fewer are chosen. Most people never move up the ladder. Most people are never hired for anything other than storeclerks, working in McDonald's, etc.
Perhaps you can count your blessings.
I am one of the "unfortunates"; I earned my Master's (after a double major, double minor at the B.A. level), have all kinds of certificates, have worked all kinds of jobs, but promotions always eluded me. Do what you can do, accept what you cannot change.
And, remember, it is not your problem; it is theirs.
Good luck in all your endeavors.

come on, you dont want to kill yourself over something like that, its not worth it. so you didnt get a raise, so what? its not that big of a deal. Look, just work hard, do quality work and you will be noticed, just do what makes you happy. if this job is "ruining your life" find a new. life is too short to be worrying about this kind of thing. just go out, have fun. arnt there people that will miss you? even if you say no, i garuntee that there is.
just enjoy life, unfortunatly, it is way too short and before you know it or want it to be you will be 75 years old and maybe you never got that promotion, but you will be able to tell your grand kids that you gave it your darn best try!
dont do it, its not worth it.
seek therapy if you think you need it, there is noting wrong with getting help

If doing the wrong thing was hard everyone would do right. Don't kill yourself just keep telling yourself to hang in there. Maybe your just at a point in life where you need to decide what's best for you not what others think of you. Get a new job! If you think you deserve better treat yourself to something better. Noone deserves to be overlooked so put yourself in a position where your talents will shine. Good luck- I mean it.

I hope you aren't seriously considering suicide! That is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If you think you are being discriminated against, file a complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act. If that doesn't work find another job and be sure you are clear in you exit survey as to why you company is losing a valuable and productive employee.

My husband is 5' 4". He was, when working, a VP of a major food company. He, too, was passed over for taller people, but managed to make it on his own. Don't give up.
