I just think that he would of been happier racing for DEI since that was his fathers business but Theresa is evidently retarded because Jr. was the only thing she had going for her,now he's gone ( to the good team of course BIG JEFF GORDON FAN)

I think he will be happy with a car that doesn't fall apart with ten laps to go, and an owner that doesn't treat him like a stepchild.

Did you see the announcement of him leaving DEI? He personally said it was the HARDEST thing he had done in his life and you could tell. Have you seen any of his post-race comments after he finishes good and was close to an win? He is genuinely happy about it and it shows. If you can name any other driver in the field that is as genuinely happy about an win as a 5th place finish, then you would win that bet because Junior is happy with 1st or 43rd, he isn't an moaner. So, to those who think that he is all about money, take a look at Dale Junior with an open eye and tell me that is not an man who is happy doing what he loves, money AND fame is just an bonus.

laceandcurls, it's because the media has an fascination with Junior. Junior can't tell the press to NOT do this and that. He tried to tell his fans to be happy about Gordon passing his father, who most consider the best driver of NASCAR, but did they listen? Don't you still hear boos for Gordon and if I remember correctly (that's sacrasm), the people even threw beer cans at the "Wonder Boy". So, to say that he is all about $$$ and "fame", say it because he is an asshole in the press, doesn't care what he said, his pit crew and equipment is CRAP and has publicly said that to the press or just think he is the best to grace the track. That's someone about money and fame, but all DEJ is about is racing and going home with an good finish for his team and organization, not half the time for him damn self, in which I wish he would say sometimes.

kaveman696969, he is NOT happy with DEI one bit but he isn't Tony Stewart and the whole reason on why he doesn't particularly like working there or moved to HSM will be known anytime soon. I wouldn't want to go to work for NO person who questions my ability on the track ONE bit, if I was an racer. That is a BIG no-no as you are saying that while he doesn't have the "talent", you are continuing to put him out there because you want money you can make from him, period.

I hope that Junior succeeds in all the things that he wants at HSM because he genuinely deserves it.

I would think he would be happy just to be away from the turmoil at DEI. Plus, now maybe he'll be happy in a car that doesn't blow the engine 6 laps from the finish, or give him 6 DNF's for the year.

Go JR.>>>>

money, Jr. doesn't worry about money. It's about racing or have we forgot as fans that it is. I think he wants to step out and be his own person out from under his dad's name and really yea i think he wants a better shot at a championship how many times did you see his car in pieces going around the track...

I don't think money had anything to do with it. He just wanted
to be with a winning team that had all of the latest and
greatest toys in the shop to make the cars run and hold
together. Now it's up to him to prove that he can drive. And
yes, I do think that he will win a few races next year.

I do believe he is happy because i heard about some of the other deals and reportedly he didnt even go to the highest bidder. also he did exactly wat he said he was gonna do. he went to the place where he had the best chance of winning races and championships not to mention hes working with a man that has been like a father to him since Sr. passed away

Something tells me that Junior probably has enough money to last him a while, so he probably wasn't too worried about that. :) I would think that he's happy to be getting a chance with a team that's been having great consistency and looking forward to getting things back on track in 2008, no pun intended.

I think he's happy to have a contract with the most dominant team in modern history... the potential to actually win a title w/out having to worry about motors blowing up... and mostly, to be rid of Teresa!

He's happy about all the money. Plus now that he's driving the Mountain Dew AMP car, he can appeal to the under 21 crowd.

I feel sorry for those soccer moms who are going to have to follow Kacy Koehn drinking Bud.

Well, Rick Hendrick and Dale Jr have known one another since Dale went to live with his Dad, so there is a comfort level there.
I am sure Dale is happy to be working for someone who he isn't fighting with, and happy at the shot of driving cars that money has been put into and I am sure he is being paid well
You have to remember though, Hendricks didn't just get Dale Jr, his sister came with him, so part if it, I am sure is making Kelly happy.
