Is this ok? Or is this drawer for broiling?

If it is electric chances are good that it is a storage for that purpose (storing pans). If it is gas it is your broiler. Look at the literaturee that came with it or check to see if there is a broiler at the top of that drawer.

May I presume you're talking about an electric stove? If so, that's what I use the drawer for (because our kitchen has ZERO storage space). Besides, in an electric oven, the broiler coil is inside the oven cavity on the top/roof.

If you're talking about a gas range, then no. The broiler would BE the drawer.

You should be able to see the broiler element in that drawer, if one exists. Use a mirror to check, or just turn it on for a moment, then off. If the drawer is hot, it's for broiling.

But if the drawer is just made out of light sheet metal, with no insulation, my guess is that it's made for storage.

The one at the bottom of my stove is for broiling. Look up in there & see if there is a broiler element.
