Such as when you admit to doing something silly..I find people are not as angry when they find you tell them honestly what/why you did something.

Honesty is the best policy if you've done something wrong. It's also mature to own up to your mistakes.

Lying about something only complicates one's life (because you have to keep remembering all the lies you've told and because people get VERY angry/hurt when they do find out that you've lied to them).

So, yes, I've found that people are more apt to forgive someone who owns up to their errors versus someone who lies about it and later gets caught.

Yeah, I agree with you. I actually did this as a child, admitting to things before my parents even knew and stuff like that, and they we're always really cool about it. I even got along well with my parents when I was a teenager because they knew they could trust me to be honest.

Unfortunately, I've found that most people would much rather lie until they're caught beyond any doubt (sometimes even after that). I can't be around people like that.

depends on the consequences...don't think a judge will give you a linient sentence when you admit to lying about a crime, you'll probably be charged with perverting the course of justice and wasting police time on top

the saying says true to the fact that....

The truth will set you free!...being honest to someone you wronged is showing them the kind of person you really are and if you can be trusted!..

Yes.
I am honest, to a fault. I can't even help it. I am compulsively truthful.

No, I honestly tell people the truth that there is no evidence for the bible or god, and they react like it was the end of the world or that they can't think for themselves -- weird huh?

The truth is acceptable unless it is about the person we are speaking to.
