So I understand that it is strictly written as a sin for humans to perform in homosexual behavior, but why not for animals? I think its crude to take every word of the Bible literally especially on this subject matter. Animals have a place in heaven as well as humans, so do you believe that animals whom are gay will go to hell? And dont try and deny that this act doesnt exist. There is MUCH proof to the contrary. Click this link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6066606.stm. So why is it ok for SOME of God's creation to be homosexual and for others to not? I understand that animals arent able to "make decisions" but any Gay person I've known doesnt "decide" to be gay either. Its in their innate nature, as it is with many other mammals. Please explain why its ok for one species and not the other when we are all a part of the same beautiful kingdom?

No, it is not me who is gay. My brother is and my boyfriends mother found out and gave me a LOOONG speach about how he is going to hell. I did not argue b/c it was upon our 2nd or 3rd meeting and it would have been inappropriate, but I left the house crying. I just wish there were a way to prove to everyone that it is not his choice and he will not go to hell. I thought maybe animals would prove it? But we do have a video tape of him when he was about 8 yrs old quietly saying he wanted to kiss this boy "Andrew." Maybe thats proof enough. I believe in God and so does my brother and he is not going to hell!

There is a rather sharp distinction drawn between mankind and animals; namely, that man was made in the image of God, has an immortal soul, and is held accountable to a moral law. None of these things apply to the animal kingdom. Additionally, the commandments and commentary in the Bible with respect to sexuality are always referred to in terms of men and women. Animals are never mentioned in this area.
That said, the entire creation was adversely affected when Adam and Eve fell, so it's no wonder to me that even animals do not behave as they were originally intended to. The Bible says that the entire creation "groans" under the affects of sin.
All of that aside, I'm curious as to where you get the idea that animals go to Heaven (or Hell). There is nothing in the Bible to indicate this, at least not that I am aware of. Yes, we are all God's creations, but only man is made in His image.
Addendum: being gay or straight is not a determination of whether one goes to Heaven or Hell. Accepting Jesus Christ as one's personal savior and lord, and relying on his sacrifice to cover the debt of one's sins before God, is what determines a person's eternal destiny.

No, animals do not have "a place in heaven". Animals are part of the natural environment, and they have no claim to eternal life. The fact that some of them may suffer from psychological problems just like some humans is irrelevant. Some animals get cancer too. So what? Animals have no moral capacity and therefore no moral responsibility. If a tiger or a crocodile kills a man, it hasn't done anything "wrong". If two animals participate in unnatural sexual activities, likewise they haven't done anything "wrong".

I don't even think we should follow man's example, let alone animals. It's better to not follow too much at all, for that matter. You know what to do. I wish you would take a look at my reference below, even if it is myself. lol There are some important things people need to know if we want to be people anymore. If you learn what science is coming up with, you should be able to help your brother and anyone you come in contact with. I think that's a valuable issue to consider, that is, can you help? We need it. Feel free to contact me if it doesn't all make sense to you as my answers are not necessarily your answers so it may take some explaining. I'm on Answers only to help, so why not help, I say?

1)Animals may at times engage in sex with one of the same gender. This is however animalistic behavior engaged in for reasons other than and in addition to sexual gratification. God never intended for humans to act like animals.
2)Where did you get the idea that animals would go to heaven? Disney?
3)All of us as humans have an imperfect, innate sinful nature. (Genesis 8:21, Romans 3:23) That does not mean that we should simply give in to it.

Where they animals in a zoo or where they in the wild?
Animals kept in captivity do a lot of wacky things.
There are some species that engage in sexual acts to cement societal bonds. These could be hetero or homosexual relations. The best example of this is bonobos. It has nothing to do with romantic feelings or even sexual desire. It is scientifically unwise to attribute human motivations (like romantic feelings) to animals.

Great book called Biological Exuberance. Just bought it from Amazon.
Lots of pictures of apes and other animals blowing each other. :)
Edit: For some of the answers I'm reading. 1) Humans ARE animals, primates in general, apes specifically. 2) There is no indication that humans have free will. We are subject to the laws of this time/space universe and of our genetics. 3) Animals form pair bonds of the same sex all the time, even raising adopted young together as such. It's natural, and it's beautiful. And by God, I do love it so!
Edit 2: Thumbs up means I'm right. Thumbs down means I'm right and in so being, I've pissed you off.

Let me begin by saying that I am not a strong Bible believer. You can disregard my answer, if you want.
Sin is a concept for humans to evaluate their behavior - not the behavior of animals.
Rationalizing that "animals do it, so it's ok for people" would have me eating goose-sh|t and humping my neighbor's leg.
There comes a time where you have to say "Just because an animal does it is not a good excuse for MY behavior." Just be gay - don't blame animals. That's stupid.

Do you really expect "believers" to come out of the closet on this one? ----Do you expect them to admit they're attracted to those gay animals?
Let them handle this in their own time and in their own way.----They've had such a hard time accepting that they're related to monkeys.---- How can you expect a believer to be seen walking hand in hand in public with a gorilla mate ? They'll get together as room-mates in due time. Just don't rush them.

The world is messed up, but pre-eminently from a spiritual position. Therefore I suppose just as we as humans find aspects of life imperfect and frustrating (selfishness, disease and decay, etc) so also the natural world is also chaotic and out-of-control. So gay baboons wouldn't surprise me. They have footage of Chimps apparently sometimes gang-raping other chimps - the victims clearly not enjoying it.
