A lot of people have mentioned that Yates will bring the 28 out of moth balls now that the 88 is gone.

Thy originally wanted the 38. Yates didn't want to give the number up and I think it had to do with the sponsor. Yates offered the 88 to Hendrick and Jr. and they were surprised that he did that. The 28 will come back with Travis Kvapil driving it. As for as a sponsor, they are working with them to work out the bugs. During the pre-race before the truck race, Kvapil was talking about how excited he was to be offered the job.. He also mentioned that they were working with the sponsor and also deciding on a number. He basically told everyone that he would not have the 88. So who else to have the 88 but Jr. Good Luck Jr. and good fortune and even more fame next year. NASCAR, it's a way of life!!!

Before Yates even decides what #s to use, he will need sponsors for each car. There will not be a Snicker's car.
Yates needs sponsors in 2008: Robert Yates Racing [Yates Racing in 2008] needs two new sponsors to replace Snickers on the #88 [with a new car # and Travis Kvapil as the driver] and M&M’s on the #38 of David Gilliland.(SPEEDtv.com)(9-16-2007)

They offered up the 38 to Junior, but junior wanted 88 instead. I have not heard of Yates offering the 38 to anyone else, however a lot of teams like to have the same numbers in both series, so I would look for the 90 and possibly the 25 to go to yates next year, to match their drivers Busch numbers.

Yates will probley use the #28 and #38 next year for David & Travis.
They are also in search of new sponsors as well as Mars is leaving to supposedly go back to Elliott Sadler at Evernham

Correction to Michael C.
RYR never offered the 38. Doug wanted to keep that number.
Kelly and Rick called about the use of the 28 and he wanted to keep that as well.
Doug offered up the 88.
Kvapil's car next year will most likely be the 28.

It will probably be the 28..I've always liked that number anyway. Takes me back in the day when my favorite driver use to be Fearless Freddy Lorenzen, back in the 60's that was his number..
