corporations like to remind you that they are bigger than you are any way they can. when its time to go its best to go quickly and gracefully.
don't expect anything to be long term -- they are looking for short term profits and how to maximize them. if they could figure out how to sell your children for 5 dollars they probably would.
its really best to never rest -- once you have a job start looking for your next job.
they don't call it corporate hell for nothing.

That is bad management. Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do about it, except look for another job at another company. If you feel you can deal with the poor conditions, and even accept the fact that you may not be able to find work at another company for quite some time, you can be more discerning with your job search. Do thorough research on companies before you apply, try using head hunters or job placement services. They meet with the hiring managers at the companies, and know their personalities and office politics, it's their job to find these things out in order to find the right fit for the open position. I found the job that I have now this way, and I am treated very well, and I have never been happier at any job. I feel like the people I work for are a very good fit for myself and my personality. Good luck to you.

In one word - YES.
I have worked for VERY large corporations (500+ employees), small corps (50-500 employees) and small companies (0-50 employees), and the best advice I can give you is to think of the companies with over 100 employees like high school.
Cliques abound, there is the race to be the popular kid, suck-ups are like teachers pets, etc. What can you do? Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is play the game if you want to keep your job or get ahead.
Keep meticulous records of everything that you have done, any positive e-mails you've received about the job you've done, etc. When these jerks try to take you to task over their own ineptitudes, just show your work. Keep tabs on how they work, things they've done wrong, keep score, and NEVER trust.
It's the only way to survive that I know of.

It's our "educated" management system. It's been running downhill for the last 3 decades! And they wonder why the workers have no "loyalty"! Duuuhhhh. ;-)=
