My friend does it all time and she never had an infection or profuse bleeding. She must have nerves of steel cause it gives me the willies just thinking about it!

Whoa there ! Skin tags often have a very good blood supply and in many cases, a good nerve supply too.
I would suggest you seek medical advice on this, as it will probably require some sort of freezing/burning/stitching even.

NO!!!!! My husband has a ton of them and his doctor says that if they really bother you to put a rubberband around them until they fall off. But I don't recommend this totally either.

Go to the doctor to have them removed!! You'll be guaranteed to not get infected or bleed to death!! Make your appointment long enough to get them all removed at once. Its alot cheaper that way...Not to mention safer.

i have done that once and never got an infection.
a doctor told me that if you keep putting a drop of bleach in them they will fall off, not sure how long it takes though.
but remember never use near your eyes.
