They leave loved ones in turmoil, as they feel that they did not help the person, they are confused and upset.
Obviously anyone who answers is not a suicide unless they are a attempted suicide.
I cant comprehend why people think suicide is an answer.

Therereally is no definitive information. Although exit interviews have been attempted, they have been largely unsuccessful.
What we do know is the effect on the ones left behind. It is a selfish, weak and cowardly act. There have been times in my life when I've contemplated punching out...but I don't want people to think I'm weak or a quitter.

Years ago I wanted to commit suicide, because my life was just a mess. I know now that it was stupid of me to even try to do that, but at the time I just wanted out. I didn't care about anything else except freeing myself from all the pain I was feeling inside. It may seem like the person trying to commit suicide is selfish, but they're really not, they are just in a lot of pain. I think the person who tries to stop them is a little selfish. I'm sure that sounds dumb, but since I was in that situation, that's how I felt. I felt that people who wanted to help me were just doing it so they wouldn't feel guilty if something happened. They just wanted me around so they wont miss me & feel bad, even knowing that I was very unhappy. Everyone has different stories & thoughts on the matter. And this was mine. Even though suicide doesn't resolve anything, I guess it's just the easy way out. Hopefully, people can learn that good things in life don't come easy. And if you want to be happy you have to stick it out & work for it.

People who turn to suicide feel they have no where else to turn. They often feel as if they are a burden to everyone around them, including themselves.

If you have never been depressed, and into the chasm of that sort of darkness, you'd never understand.....

Those who consider suicide feel their problems are far larger than their ability to cope.

If someone you know committed suicide, im' surely sorry for your loss... it wasn't about you, it was about their feelings of hopelessness, desparation and probably failure.

Depression is an illness... just like cancer... when left untreated, anything can happen....

The pain become unbearable..to point that the only relief is to end your life. I saw no light at the end of the tunnel.
I could not bear to take my next breath.

I was mentally sick. (Kind a like a cold in my brain, emotions.) I contemplated suicide many years ago. I felt if I could not live with my children I would not live without them. They were my life and now they were gone. I no longer had anything to live for.
Suicide is: A permanent solution to a temporary problem.

There are probably many different answers to this question. I think mostly, those who see suicide as an answer are in severe emotional pain and they can no longer see how their actions will impact others. They just want relief in the only way that they can find - by ending their own life. Sadly, it no longer matters to them what problems they leave behind.

It all boils down to a chemical imbalance...If you notice the signs of depression you need to take them seriously and weigh your options. If this person is under 18..get them into a Dr.. ASAP and some counseling would help too!

If the person is over the age of 18 call the cops..They have the say in "chaptering" a person if they are going to hurt themselves or others!

The reason you can't comprehend it is because you obviously have never been in there shoes to understand what they are feeling. No one has and no one will..It is the way life is. You can't understand someone else's way of thinking..but wouldn't be nice if we could!

Depression is a persistent mental attitude that tells the sufferer "Your life doesn't matter...nothing matters...there is nothing you can do..."

People who suffer from depression feel disconnected from events and powerless to affect the direction of their own lives.

They draw inward. And soon become overwhelmed by the demands that life puts on them.

They begin to have suicidal thoughts, not because they want to, but because their brains are malfunctioning and their own thoughts are turning against them.

If they don't get help, and commit suicide, they do it from a perspective of total isolation. Feeling that the world is better off without them.

It comes at a time when the person really doesn't care about others, that they can't live in the situation that they are in and death is the only way out. If you've ever felt like things won't get better and there is nothing you can do, no one else matters.

actually its the brain thats the problem not the person
they dont sit and decide oh today i think i will die

its the serotonin in the brain, which is very strong stuff
and when it gets lowered, which is what happens when people get depression, suicide is just a symptom and side effect of this
i suggest if you really want answers to this you read up on serotonin and brain functions

depression, ocd, mental illness of all kinds are brain chemical problems, not peoples personalities problems

its nothing to do with any person not able to cope with their problems,
its nothing to do with any other person,
its to do with the brain function
and this is why medicine helps, anti depressants, ssris, snris and other medicines work on leveling out, putting up, the serotonin levels

its all very easy to judge people from your seat when you dont get the same problems, when your brain works normally, or better than theirs,
but serotonin drops can happen to anyone,
at any time,
especially traumatic times which encourages and causes the serotonin drops/purges and this is what leads to the depression, unhappiness, suicidal thoughts etc

people who get so low because of serotonin dont think there is an answer,
they dont see any possible answer and they just want the pain and torture and despair to end
they dont see that happening in life, while living, so the only logical answer is to stop living, its really not that hard to understand from a logical or physical perspective

but because you see it from your own perspective, from the people left behinds perspective,
from a person who has normal serotonin levels perspective
you cant possibly understand what being so low feels like

but i guarantee you, if your serotonin got that low, you would feel exactly the same things

these people dont want to die, they want to stop feeling pain, and its not their choice whether they feel it or not
its the brains choice, so to speak
they cant just pick themselves up and tell their serotonin to rise,
thats why medicine is needed ,
and then they feel better with the medicine,
and this enables them to deal with whatever problems they have more effectively and this then leads to the serotonin leveling out eventually

when you feel that low, you are not thinking
but how will my family feel,
and your low low serotonin wont let you think about anything else other than wanting to end the pain, or why you feel pain
and whn you do think about them you infact think they would be better off without you because you are no use to them, and because your serotonin is so low, you truly believe it

The only thing I can think of is that the see no way out, and have no faith that things will get better. Its a desperate measure they take to bail them out of whatever's going on at the time.

Also it happens a lot with people who have been depressed long term without any effective relief from treatment.
