What does it mean when this message appers after you have clicked on a link from a website to watch a video=
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:").
This happens often when I try to play videos from websites. What can I do abou this issue?

It means that whatever you are trying to play is in a format (protocol) that Windows Media Player can not play. If it is something like a flash, real player or appletime video, then WMP can not use it. You would have to get the correct player for the file.

dont use windows media player. us vlc or media center classic they have better picture and they play nething. and there free.
