not that I do obsessively bash gays, it's just a hypothetical question.

No. And that's why, as a Christian, I refuse to do it.

Of course not. In fact, I think there's something weird about being obsessed over someone else's personal sin, unless you have known someone who was caught in the same sin. For example, I disapprove of polygamy, but since I've never known any polygamists, I have no reason to go out of my way to speak against it.

Then again, I suppose a person can be a good Christian in some areas and a bad Christian in others. For example, maybe I'm good at taking care of my family, and maybe I'm kind to strangers, but I might have trouble readily forgiving my enemies.

That said, there is a huge difference between bashing gays and disagreeing with gays--and yes, I have known quite a few gay people. I would never picket a funeral with a sign saying GOD HATES F**S--which is a lie, anyway--God loves everyone. However, if I were talking to a gay person about such issues, I wouldn't mind, at an appropriate moment, telling him or her that I think homosexual acts are wrong. I would add that I also believe that other kinds of sexual acts, like fornication or adultery, are wrong, too. I certainly don't think homosexuality between otherwise unattached people is worse than adultery!

There's alot of so called religous people out there that really don't have the slightest clue about what religion is suppose to be. What Jesus stood for and what he TRIED to teach all of us block heads while he was here still hasn't sunk into alot of folks heads.

Your hypothetical question isn't really hypothetical at all but more true than many want to admit or believe about themselves.

Those people are called hypocrits by the way and need to go right back into Sunday school and learn it all again from the beginning.

there is nothing in Christianity that explicitly calkls on a person to bash gay people. Indeed, quite the reverse: we should love our neighbour!
Consult a nice book by Peter Coleman about Christian responses to homosexuality. It makes interesting reading and incidentally puts most of the texts that apparently condemn homosexuality into proper context. These texts variously condemn idotary and syncretism (the Leviticus prohibityions and the references to temple prostitutes in the Hezekiah story) and inhospitality (the Sodom story).

Beyond that, maybe we should invoke the Orthodox principle of Divine Economy and be generous in our response to those we might belive have sinned. We cannot know the mind and mercy of God and neither should we be too eager to cast the first stone. BE CAREFUL!!

Only if you also obsessively bash Red Lobster patrons and those that wear commercially made clothing.

Otherwise, you really are being a bit of a hypocrite. It's either all of the law, or none of it. You can't pick and choose which ones to follow and which ones not to follow.

no you cannot be a good cristian if you have hate in your hear for anything or anyone. God does not like the sin of being gay but still welcomes them into heaven if they repent and stop sinning. A good cristina remembers that god has always told each cristian to look for solutions to their problems with in themselves not to got and judge and bash any one. God says if your eyes fall on a beautiful girl and that casues you to look at her in a sinfull manner then it is better for you to cut your own eyes out so that you dont commit that same sin again. God is love and he loves u

no, you shouldnt judge others.
Christians should love (agape love) homosexuals. What this means is that we want the best for homosexuals. Christians treat homosexuals the same as they treat anyone else -- wanting the best that can be had for everyone. However, that does not mean Christians accept homosexuality as being a good lifestyle. Homosexuality is a sin. God hates sin.

Since you seem to enjoy bashing, I'm betting you could care less what Jesus says.

God didn't call us to bash anybody. He called us to love the sinner and hate the sin. From experience I can tell you that it is not easy when they are hitting on you. It makes my flesh crawl, but we were also called to preach the word to those in need. And believe me, they need Christ. But then who doesn't?

You should never bash gays, only free gays from the spirit of homosexuality....in love, and with respect.
