Helicopters have made themselves indispensable due to their mode of operation. They can take off and land from a helipad and can approach and carry out jobs in extremely restricted spaces. They are useful in commercial, private, medical sector and the armed forces. Their multiple role capability has rendered them a place in aviation which is unlikely to be either underestimated or replaced by other flying machines.

Airplanes require several hundred feet of level and obstacle free ground to take off and land... helicopters need about a 15 ft. square... therefore, they are more versatile and they can hover, you defiantly cant do that in an airplane...
