Both the Glock 17 and 19 can be equipped with suppressor-capable barrels and devices. (I own a suppressor-equipped 17) There are several manufacturers who deal in these devices, as well as distributors who handle them on several websites, Gunbroker.com, among others.
Your best bet to have a Glock modified and equipped with a suppressor would be to contact a local Class 3 weapons' dealer and get his assistance, as purchase & transfer of a suppressor to a citizen must be handled through BATFE authority, anyway.

P.S: A Glock 18 is the full-auto version of the 17, and I have never seen or heard of one for sale to a U.S. citizen, EVER!
You might be able to have a 17 modified into 18 configuration, but it would be a bigger hassle than having a 17 equipped for a suppressor.

Glock 19 Silencer

in order to possess a silencer, you must go thru an extensive background check, just like you do to possess a class 3 full auto firearm, pay the $200.00 tax stamp and pick up your silencer from the dealer. Also, there is no such thing as a "silencer". It is a "suppressor" as it cannot fully silence the firearm, only make it quieter.
On the glock pistol, you have to obtain a barrel designed for the suppressor, that it to say that it extends past the end of the slide and is threaded to accept the suppressor. Most people purchase the firearm and suppressor as a pre made package, rather than having to pay to have it built afterwords.
Again, possession of the silencer is a felony if you do not have the tax stamp and all paperwork approved first.
Hope this helps

As said above, silencers are legal in most states, so you first need to find out if they are allowed in yours. The term silencer is a legal term, but since even a good one is not going to bring the noise level below 125 decibels, they are more properly called suppressors. You need to be at least 21 to buy a silencer and obtain the $200 tax stamp, but only 18 to make one yourself. The tax stamp is still required before you make one though.

Glock 17’s and 19’s work well with silencers as long as they have a recoil enhancer attached. The extra weight on the barrel will stop the slide from going back unless the recoil enhancer is used. This will add about $200 to the cost of the silencer. Extended threaded barrels are available from various gun parts dealers, or can be supplied by most silencer manufacturers. Some silencer manufacturers can also fit it to the barrel to ensure good alignment to prevent baffles strikes which can ruin the silencer

A good silencer is going to run you about $600-700. AAC, Gemtech and SWR make the best ones from what I have read. You can use any ammo that is safe in a pistol, but subsonic is going to work the best. Subsonic ammo does not make the sonic boom typical of full power ammo and the smaller powder charge creates less muzzle blast for the silencer to contain.

Making a silencer is also an option if you have a lathe. I made my own silencer for a 9mm browning on a hobby lathe. The bar stock and tubing only cost about $20, but I had to pay the same $200 tax before building it. Check out the silencertests.com or the subguns.com websites to downloadable ATF forms and advice about the right silencer for your needs.

I have only seen one Glock 18. It was made by a dealer for the police and not for sale to civilians. It is impressive though. Putting an aluminum silencer on a Glock 18 and dumping mags through it will ruin it quickly. Stainless would be required for full auto. The aluminum ones so popular in the USA will last a long time on a semi-auto as long as you do not heat them up too much.

You need to be 21 years old,and live in a state that under law you can possess a suppressor/silencer. You then have to complete an application form BATF-1 and they will conduct a background investigation. Once you pass that you pay a one time $200 Tax Stamp fee, and then contact a Class III Dealer to shop for your suppressor/silencer. You will also have to buy a new Glock extended barrel with a threaded end to accept the Suppressor/Silencer, costing about $125. The Suppressor/Silencer can cost anywhere between $650 and UP depending on design and suppression rating. This is not an inexpensive project...Restrictions for use are VERY limiting......

It works but does not silence the pistol. Don't waste your time with it.
