i think it is better just to go down to mexico than go all the way to iraq don't u think.

If the United States was really desperate for oil, we have oil in our OWN COUNTRY for crying out loud! Alaska in particular has a lot of oil that cannot be used due to "enviromentalists" reasons.
So when people say we are only in Iraq because of oil needs, that is terribly misunderstood. Our country has a lot of oil that won't be drilled because enviromentalists are too worried about killing the fish.

Mexican oil, IS shipped into the USA, regularly. There have been many times that Mexico has been the # 4 supplier, and occasionally #3.
Btw, the oil from northern Mexico, is a portion of the PERMIAN BASIN of WEST TEXAS ( ever heard of west Texas crude, the bench mark for top quality crude), and that portion of those 3 formations continues south of the Rio Grande / Rio Bravo.

We only get 4% of our oil from Iraq.

We don't get so much from Iraq, I think a good amount of our oil comes from Venezuela and Saudi Arabia.

FYI - Mexico is already one of the biggest sources of oil imported into the US.

If we were their to take their oil we would have taken some. If the war was about oil we could have just went to Mexico or Venezuala and taken it with little effort

when will you understand. we do not want the oil. we want to keep china from getting the oil. end of story. imagine all the oil reserves as fuel dumps. when wanting to deprive the enemy of fuel you blow the fuel dumps, whether they are yours or the enemies. that's all we are doing, blowing the fuel dumps so china does not get them. what do you think the tax credits on humvees represent??? drive more gas guzzlers more often. "blow the fuel dumps" as quickly as possible. if china had all the oil they needed, the chinese economy would double in ten years, as would their military. get a clue and drive drive drive.... burn that fuel before china gets it.
