Help, having toruble downloading something..?

I am downloading a program, but everytime i go to setup it sais,

'Instalation cannot continue until the following applications are closed'

Internet explorer

I didnt have it open, and when i pressed try again, it keeps showing the same thing.How do i close it?
BTW when i download it, i dont have IE on the bottom blue dash.

Hit ctrl-alt-del then see if it is running. I don't know what you are trying to install (as I havfe yet to run into that particular problem) but you can try rebooting and then installing - that will make sure IE is closed or, if that fails, restart in safe mode and try the install.
