Definitely dress up. You don't know the company dress code until THEY tell you.

Never wear jeans to a job interview, even if the job you're applying for is a construction worker. The old saying that "You only get one chance to make a good first impression" is very true. Show that you really want the job and dress professionally. If you are a man wear a shirt and tie with slacks and a woman should wear a skirt and blouse or a dress with pantyhose.
The business world is and always will be conservative so your appearance should reflect that also.

I am a career adviser and smart and mature. Here is my advice to you. Number 1 is post your resume on the net like hot jobs, career builder, for example have the jobs find you.Go on other interviews like maybe a Summer Camp Counselor,Temp Ag.For Summer Job,Home Depot, Kmart would be good if there is one near your home, or job as a Bank Teller is good too even part time. Dress well and be on time for the interview is the first step. Always good to go where you are wanted. Good Luck. Lady Jane from NYC

If you want the job, wear real pants for that day, and real shoes too. Even though the job is casual, the interview is not. Of course you wouldn't wear a suit like if you were interviewing for a more formal office job, but you want to dress just a little better.

No, it is not acceptable to roll out of bed and come to an interview. It shows lack of respect to the employer. It shows that you are not serious about employment.
Look at it from the employer's point of view: I have a position available that I need to hire a body for. I have 50 applicants (and believe me, in this job market, 50 applicants a small number!). Do I want to hire the person who is articulate, well-manicured, and professional-looking, or do I want to hire SIDE-SHOW BOB, the guy with the piercings, tattered clothes, and the "who cares" attitude? Do you hire the person who is hungry for the job, who put effort into impressing me, who did their best to stand out from the rest by bringing a positive, professional attitude and look, or do I hire the guy that looks like the Unibomber having a bad-hair day?
An interview is YOUR CHANCE to impress me. You need the job and you need to show ME why you'd be the person for that job. If you think so little of me that you'd present yourself with total disregard for professionalism or courtesy, why would I consider you for the position? If you've seen the posts here, you should know that, right now, it's an employer's market: there are people out there that want the jobs. If you want the job, you are going to have to put a little more effort into it, other than filling out an application and expecting the job to fall in your lap!
From your question, I would assume you are young, just starting to get into the job market. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to handle it seriously. Otherwise, you are wasting your time and the prospective employer's time.

Deffinately try to dress professionally. I don't know what the dress code in the office you'll be working in is, but usually it's business casual. Meaning khakis and polo shirts or button ups with long sleeves. If you don't put an effort into looking presentable, they won't feel like you're taking them seriously and probably won't consider you.

You dont have to wear a suite and tie and all.. but I dont think jeans is the answer. Wear a full sleeved light colored shirt (white, off-white, light blue) and trousers (not jeans). You should atleast look professional. Do try to carry a tie with u and if u feel, u can wear a tie too.

I would never wear jeans to an interview. Even if I were interviewing at McDonald's I would at least wear khaki pants and a nice shirt.

Not if you want the job. Your dress gives the message that you don't respect and take them seriously. If I am wrong, still no jeans etc. That way you can't get it wrong

Your appearance is part of your first impression and as the saying goes, you don't get a second chance to make one.
