I have an interview tomorrow. I have two really nice suits, a Red one that is smooth in texture, and a Light Green tweed one. The red one fits better. Is it too bold to wear red to an interview as long as my shoes are tan and I'm not in all red? The interview is for a receptionist in an upscale medical practice.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable and confident in. Apparently turquiose is the colour of communication and should be worn at interviews!
Good Luck and hope you get the job..

Actually black or navy would be the best suit colors, paired with a nice accent like a red blouse and tasteful jewelry.

Given the choice between a red suit or a green suit, I'd wear the green as it will look more understated. That being said, and ill-fitting suit at an interview can look unprofessional and leave a negative impression. As a receptionist, you'll be the first face a client is seeing, so it's important for you to look polished and put together. Assume your competition is as qualified as you are, then figure out what will set you apart. If I have to equally competent and qualified candidates, I'll pick the one who seems to fit in best with our business.

My advice is to head over to Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Ross and check out their clearance rack (if you can afford a new suit). You can often find nice, brand-name suits there for a fraction of the price (definitely below, or well below, $100 for the jacket & the bottoms) and it would be a good investment. Once you get the job, you can wear your other suits as much as you like.

Upscale = conservative. Medical also = conservative. Go with the green and pull one of the colors from the tweed into your accessories which should be at a minimum. Your professinal attitude will draw any attention away from any perceived ill fit of the suit. Go light on the make-up and hair, too.

I would say Light Green. I am sure the Red one would be find once you are hired, but for an interview I think it is to bold.

Good Luck!

I feel the red would be too bold for an interview.
Better go with the green one.

I also have and interview tomorrow.

Good Luck to us!

If its choosing between Red and Green, I'd say go with the 'Green'. But I personally feel Black is the color for interviews!

Wear the red one. You will feel more comfortable, which means you will be more relaxed at your interview and therefore able to concentrate better. You will also give the impression of having a lot of self-confidence - which will be impressive.

I would go with the green one if it is more low key. But then again, I have never been a fan of red blazers, reminds me of target/cvs/compusa...especially combined with the beige. Light green will look nice with white or tan.

get the light geren tailored and wear that. specially if it is more upscale. save the red for later might be too bold for interviews.
