Few Christians believe that the earth is only 6000 years old.

I find it odd how many non-Christians assume that we all think that. (Not that you do. Hell, you might even be a Christian for all I know...)

EDITED TO ADD:
You are wrong. Whether you are a believer or not, time is NOT an invention of humans. Time existed before our species ever came into being. We simply recognized it, named it, and found ways to mark/record it's passage.

Time is not the ticks of a clock or the numbers on a calendar. Time is that intangible thing which keeps everything from happening all at once.

ADDING AGAIN:
Zapp, the links you provided back me up. Time is not a human invention. The *measurement* of it is.

I am going to the gym now. Peace.

Eh, I don't see how this woul be a problem for them more than anything else is. If our dating methods for things billions of years old are thought to be wrong by them, I see no reason they would agree on our dating methods for a few thousand years ago... They threw out all of that science. As for other records, writing itself is only about 6000 years old everywhere, and even then there weren't any yearly records surviving... So I'd just stick with the dinosaur evidence.

Hi,
Did you know that the Bible says that the Earth is of old. This implies very very old....much older than 6K years. Nowhere in scripture does it imply that it is only 6K old. This is just an invention of SOME Christian churches...NOT ALL. Some believe that the Earth was made in the beginning just like scripture states. And no one really knows exactly how loooooooong ago the beginning was.

Well it doesnt say in genesis, but when adam and eve were looking at their apples the chinese already had lots of cities and had been going for thousands of years...

Seriously how can logic and reason appeal to people interested in blind faith? They'll answer the same way they do when you talk about light hitting us from stars millons of lightyears away (which means the light must have been travelling that long)

They'll say God made it look that way. Personally I wouldnt want to believe in a God that would try to trick people like that. You have to be a bit dumb to believe, dont you?

Maybe they use the metric system, so they don't count the same way we do?

J/K. Obviously, whoever says Earth is 6,000 years old is wrong.

The same reason why the ancient Egyptians and Chinese never seemed to notice that they were being drowned in the worldwide deluge described in Genesis...

Satan went to China and altered the writings of Chinese history? Liberals went to China and altered the records? Atheists went to China and altered the records? God, to test us, went to China and altered the records? Or all of the above?

Anybody who really believes this is not going to be convinced otherwise, no matter how logical the argument. But good luck.
