Yes, if you mean American society. We're not only complacent but openly hostile to those who stand up the rage against our collective failures--war, poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, disparities in the availability of health care, racism, economic stratification. We're going to hell in a handbasket--a supercharged, rocket-propelled, hell-bound express, and it's a very few who seem to give a damn. Christians are too busy hating gays. Rednecks are too busy hating blacks and latinos. And the rest of us are too busy sitting on our butts and watching reality TV. As for what is going to come of this? Well, the country is going to come apart at the seams and God is going to just kick our ever-hating asses from here to Tartarus.

I know what men wrote in the book we call the Bible and I realize that history repeats it's self. Did you read in history that Jesus studied with mystics and that he broke Roman laws and was sentenced in the norm of the culture at the time? What did he know and when did he know it? Do you not flip the switch and expect there to be light? Complacent? I'd say comfortably set in their ways.

every one gets complacent at some point in their lives,we live in such a materialistic society, where most feel they only fit in if they look a certain way, etc.
media put so much pressure on us we all at times feel our lives are not good enought if we are not out dining a few times a week, jetting off etc .complacency also is a drive to make changes,so not always negative, depends on personal circumstances and goals.
next time you feel life is like that, erase the people who you care about ,see how that feels and we would soon see the riches we have are what we receive by loving others and being loved.

Society, complacent? It depends on who you hang around, don't be yoked with unbelievers. In the other respect you want to reach out for the lost without making them feel like your shoving religion down there throat. Jesus always befriended ppl and showed them by example. It's one thing to share just because the bible says, but its another to have love for the lost and care that they get saved.
Not only can you get complacent in general, but in each area of you life it can become complacent. Just make sure that your heart and your thoughts and love for the world walk the line of Jesus did.

Society is tolerating religion rather than stamping it out despite the dangers it poses.
So yes we're complacent.

it is the end times, and the Bible says we will love evil more than good, it sure seems that way now. We are to be the salt of the earth, if the salt has lost it's savor, it is to be trodden down and cast out, nowadays, there is no "salt" in most Christians. It seems, unfortunately, that we have lost our passion and become a ME society instead of the Christ centered one we should be, which eventually leads to complacency about sin.

I'm sorry....
A) I may agree that we're allowing somethings that I personally don't agree with....
BUT
B) I'm not going to base the entirety of society's laws on a SINGLE religion's antiquated book when there are hundreds of other religions. If you are going to attempt to bring the Bible in to politics & law, be prepared to also bring in the Torah, Koran, different versions of a Book of Shadows, The Hindu faith, Buddism, Ba'hai (spelling?) etc....
