Often fundamentalists are very careful to follow the Bible to the letter, and they learn it as best they can in order to do so. That doesn't make them any better Christians, it makes them a pain, in my humble opinion. Although I have loved God and Christ for as long as I can remember back, (I'm 50 now), it irritates me when a newbie tries to reform me. I've been on an intimate basis with the Bible since before I could read it, and even longer with God and Christ. They have been my very best friends all my life. I wish fundies would just leave me be. I've been through a lot with them, and our relationship has grown in ways I could never have imagined.

I heartily agree.
I must admit, as a relatively new yahoo answerer, I'm fed up to the back teeth of people who use this service solely to make fun of people with no provocation, push their own (usually Fundamentalist Religious or racist) beliefs, and to just generally be idiots where other people can see them.
IMHO, if a question does not ask for your opinion, then don't give it. And if it does, then don't knock others for having an opinion that differs to your own. (however stupid it is ;o)).
By the way, I'd have asked that "hammer" if Jesus himself said anything about masturbation (I'll bet he didn't!). Enough of this "Paul said Pornia" rubbish.
