I was raised Christian and I am having trouble understanding how with the Bible, Jesus is seen as God in Christian theology. I could understand how the conclusion that he is the son of God could be made from the Bible but how do Christians conclude he is God? No, disrespect and I ask answers to be respectful but I just can't find it in there. To be honest I believe Jesus was more of prophet endowed with a unique spiritual enlightenment.

Where in Jesus' own words does he make this clear?

The Bible does not support the Christian belief in trinity and Divinity at all.

I am a muslim and i had studied Bible. I can't find a single verse in the Bible where Jesus himself claimed Divinity

what i found is

One of the scribes once asked Jesus (pbuh) as to which was the first commandment of all, to which Jesus (pbuh) merely repeated what Moses (pbuh) had said earlier:
"Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adonai Ikhad."
This is a Hebrew quotation, which means:
"Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord."
[The Bible, Mark 12:29]
It is striking that the basic teachings of the Church such as Trinity and vicarious atonement find no mention in the Bible. In fact, various verses of the Bible point to Jesus’ (pbuh) actual mission, which was to fulfill the law revealed to Prophet Moses (pbuh). Indeed Jesus (pbuh) rejected any suggestions that attributed divinity to him, and explained his miracles as the power of the One True God.
Jesus (pbuh) thus reiterated the message of monotheism that was given by all earlier prophets of Almighty God

Jesus Refuted even the Remotest Suggestion of his Divinity

Consider the following incident mentioned in the Bible:
"And behold, one came and said unto him, ‘Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?’
And he said unto him, ‘Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.’ "
[The Bible, Mathew 19:16-17]
Jesus (pbuh) did not say that to have the eternal life of paradise, man should believe in him as Almighty God or worship him as God, or believe that Jesus (pbuh) would die for his sins. On the contrary he said that the path to salvation was through keeping the commandments. It is indeed striking to note the difference between the words of Jesus Christ (pbuh) and the Christian dogma of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus (pbuh).

Jesus (pbuh) of Nazareth – a Man Approved of God
The following statement from the Bible supports the Islamic belief that Jesus (pbuh) was a prophet of God.
"Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know."
[The Bible, Acts 2:22]

Yes He was God, John 1:1 in the begining was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Christ is the Word or logos. Jesus was the "only begotten" which means monogenese or same stock or substance of God. Jesus' claims to be the Son of God were claims of Deity; the Pharisees knew this and therefore tried to stone Him for this. They even stated this to Jesus "You being a man make yourself out to be God" in another scripture they said "You are calling God your own father and therefore making yourself equal with God". So Jesus claimed to be God and the Pharisees understood this claim as well. The early church in the second century referred to Christ as "God the Son"; the early church of the first three centuries was very trinitarian. The belief that Jesus was not declared God until the Nicene council in 325 AD is a myth. Even the heatthen historina Pliny says "These Christians meet early in the morning, take vows of holiness and worship Christ as God".

God is Spirit. In the beginning there was God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. This is called the Trinity.
When Jesus (God the Son) came to earth, He took on the limitations of man, but He was still God the Son. When he left and went to sit at the right hand of God, He send His Spirit to all believers (the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus), to be with all believers. Jesus is three in one: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

It's an old problem. The original followers of Jesus did not worship him as God. It was only after the Council of Nicea in 325 when Cathloic and Orthodox bishops created the Holy Trinty by vote and confirmed Jesus' status as God. There were bishops at the time who rejected the trinity, called "Nontrinitarians" who were left with the option of either converting or being branded a heretic.

Whether this was right or wrong depends on your theology, but that is the background.

Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
How could Jesus who was not yet 33 claim to be before Abraham? The use of the words "I AM" Is the clue, for that is the same phrase that Jehovah used to identify Himself to Moses in Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Well Jesus was the I AM that appeared to Moses, for Jehovah at that time had not yet taken on human flesh, then in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ He became flesh and dwelt among us. You kno that God is refered to as the Father, well One of the passages about Messiah shows that Messiah is in fact the everlasting Father Himself. Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. One side note the words translated I AM simply man "to be" In otherwords God is what He is! If Jesus was not the I AM he was one of two things, a Liar, or a Lunatic. I dont know about you but I believe He was and is Lord of All. And so did the Apostes thats why they taught Baptism in His Name, not the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Churches now use the titles following the Roman Catholic Heresy, and have deviated from the teaching of the Apostles, in doing so they have become Apostate.

Not all Christians believe in the Trinity.

Jesus is not God, he's the second Adam. A man like us, but without sin.

The Trinity was a concept based on Greek philosophy.

Think of it this way --

When Jesus was a baby shitting in his diapers, was he also holding up the world at the same time? Ridiculous.

Or think of it this way --

If Jesus is God, than God died. Impossible.

Faith is the key answer here. Remember the Bible is a Faith Document, not a history book or bibliography. The Bible was only written down after many years of passing the stories on orally, so most of the words attributed to Jesus are not direct quotes, only references to the way He would have responded and lived His life. If you believe in God, then you must believe that He has divine power, something we as humans will never comprehend. With this divine power, God is capable of things we can not even imagine, including sending a human with divine powers down to earth to provide us with a model we should follow.

Jesus is the flesh part of God. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God is spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and truth. Jesus is God in the flesh, he was in the old testament and the new. He wasn't called Jesus in the old, but it had to be Him because No man has seen God at any time. Moses saw the hinder parts only of God. The bible say, in the beginning, God said, let us make man in our image, He was talking to Jesus there.

well you have to open ur mind a little more. in the bible it says he is the father son and holy spirit. And if u believe in him u wouldn't even ask that question. If he is able to create earth and man then why can't he be both father and son(jesus and god).
