If you're left handed....does it hurt when you write?

I'm left handed and ever since I remember it hurt....like in the middle of my hand...but sometimes it doesn't....I have to go slooooow.

And haha hmmm NOOO I do not wanna see a doctor, I know I don't need one. THANKS. =]

I am left handed, but I hold my pen exactly like a right handed person, so I don't have that upside-down/twisted hand position, and I think that makes a huge difference in how my hands feel after I write for a long time. I also don't have as much issue of ink-smudging.

=) if writing with your dominant hand hurts, the odds are very good that your "form" (how you position your hand, how you grip the pencil or pen, whether your wrist is straight, etc.) is probably at fault. Most teachers don't really have a clue on form for lefties and often instruct or allow form that's poor. Now the lefties have learned some bad habits that over time cause them pain, even damage.

If the pain is in the hand itself, not the wrist or fingers, I'd look long and hard at the grip.

Loosen up your grip on the pen, and place your hand underneath your work. Don't use that hooked around the paper movement. May help.

I'm a leftie, too. Doesnt hurt to write, unless I write for a long time without a break.

As a matter of fact, it DOES hurt when I write for a long time. But I've always figured I was clenching the pen too tight.

I M LEFT HANDED AND 1st THING IS THAT I AM A BOY AND I USED TO PLAY MANY GAMES WITH MY FRIEND WHICH KEEP MY FITNESS GOOD .HOPE YOU SHOULD DO HAND EXERCISE DAILY.TILL IF YOU ARE NOT FREE FROM THIS THEN YOU SHOULD GO TO AN DOCTOR.

Especially when I write with a pencil for a while... my ring finger of my left hand HURTS so much...

do you also smudge what you write sometimes? sooo annoying.

there are as many different pens as different hands
