seems such as you're needing the two working structures on the gadget, no longer basically one or the different. there's a fashion with basically one partition in case you like...i'm questioning you could merely pop interior the XP disk, restart the gadget and it will directly open to the setting up. After this is all put in, what's going to take place is each and every time you turn the pc on, it could have slightly menu asking which OS you like as nicely from. it must be slightly inconvenient, yet this is as much as you. or you will possibly would desire to get some application (i.e. Partition Magic,) or some thing and do it that way. *little messy* as quickly as to procure 2 partitions you will possibly would desire to flow into your BIOS at startup, (F8 or DEL or another key it would say genuine speedy on the exhibit perfect once you turn the pc on,) and alter the order of the boot-up force to: first CD, 2d - 2d partition, 0.33 - first partition. Then restart the pc with the XP disk in and setting up from there. discomfort interior the butt cuz each and every time you pick to start from the different OS, you will possibly would desire to alter the settings on your BIOS throughout. Makes the inconvenience of the menu interior the final selection seem genuine effective! wish this facilitates.

No, Dell and Sony use Windows versions that only work with their brand of hardware.

Call the manufacturer for an upgrade / downgrade Recovery Disk.

Sorry, but OEM OS discs don't work on different brands of machines. The Dell Windows disc is designed only to run on Dell computers, and won't work on anything else.

No, you can't due to preconfigured drivers setup to that particular make and model of PC. You want to install XP? Go to the store, buy the full version of XP Professional (not the upgrade, can't boot from that to perform a clean install).

short answer: no.

long answer: windows XP has an activation code thingy that keeps you from installing it on more than one computer. No activation code thingy, no instally. And the activation code is computer-specific - in other words, it's linked to computer-readable codes on a bunch of parts of the hardware inside your computer. Now if you wanna try to hack your way into installing it, be my guest.. but i'm a nerd and i never got it to work.
