I do not like country and would prefer that the song be very unique so not Celine Dion or Streisand or anyone like that. We are using Sinatra for the other song. Any ideas of a great love song that fits into that genre, or something that few people have heard?

I need a romantic song, sung by a female, for my wedding and I can't think of anything?

Wedding Songs By Female Artists

Look at some songs by Amel Larrieux

She is a neo soul singer. Amazing voice, very soothing, she's popular enough so that you won't have trouble finding her, but not popular enough so that most people won't know her.

She's had about 3 solo albums out Bravebird, Infinite Possibilities, and Morning...I think you'll be impressed enough to pick one of her songs for your wedding.

Congratulations and good luck

Edit: if you want me to send you a song by her, just e mail me with your e mail, and I'll pick a song and send it. That way you'll have a feel of her, should you decide to buy one of her albums

Edit #2: I just realized you can just type her name in youtube, lol, she has a few videos out.

I've always thought this was such a beautiful song. It was originally song by Paul Stokely of Peter, Paul and Mary. But since you want a female voice, The Captain and Tennille do this song too. Toni Tennille's voice is just beautiful! I've included the lyrics:

"There Is Love" (The Wedding Song)

He’s now to be among you at the calling of your hearts
Rest assured this troubadour is acting on his part
The union of your spirits here has caused him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in his name
There is love, there is love

Well a man shall leave his mother, and a woman leave her home
And they shall travel on their way, the two shall be as one
As it was in the beginning is now until the end
Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again
And there’s love, there is love

And what’s to be the reason for becoming man and wife
Is it love that brings you here or love that gives you life
For if loving is the answer then who’s the giving for
Do you believe in something that you’ve never seen before
Oh there’s love, there is love

And what’s to be the reason for becoming man and wife
Is it love that brings you here or love that gives you life
For if loving is the answer then who’s the giving for
Do you believe in something that you’ve never seen before
Oh there’s love, there is love

I wish you many years of happiness in your new life!

At Last by Etta James
You Light Up My Life-Debbie Boone

I definately like At Last a lot better than You Light Up My Life, but it is according to the musical feel that you prefer for your wedding.

PS....

How in the world I forgot this song, I don't know, but Mary Chapin Carpenter has re-recorded an old Beetles song called "Grow Old Along With Me" that is just awesome. It doesn't sound like her country roots either....now that IS one that I would use.

Good luck and GOD BLESS!

Look at some jazz and soul artists like Aretha Franklin. Or, find a female who covers a Sinatra song.

'Close to You', as sung by Karen Carpenter is a beautiful song for this occasion. "Just like me, they long to be close to you." Marvelous.
