Is it safe to stay and rest in the north/south terminal of gatwick airport?

Hi. I am probably travelling to the UK next december. I have to go to cardiff, and my flight arrives at gatwick airport at 23:55. The bus for cardiff leaves the next day at 4:40 am, so i have to wait for about 5 hours. I'm rather on a tight budget, so i wouldn't want to rent an airport hotel for the night. Just want to know, is it safe to stay in the north terminal with the luggage? and is there a place where one can stay with no hassles?

Probably safer than anywhere else you can stay. You are in a security area after all and they are used to travelers hanging out. no worries mate,
