Ever wonder what religious people in Taiwan get up to?http://www.pigsofgod.org/

Shouldn't religions encourage people to be compassionate? In reality, it is quite often the opposite.

Cruelty is cruelty. As such it is repulsive, especially given that we assume that mankind is the most intelligent species on the planet! What is there to be so proud of in treating other animals (or each other) with cruelty?

To then suggest that religion excuses cruelty, makes it acceptable or even necessary simply proves to me the foolishness and blindness of those who 'believe'.

Does it justify cruelty? NO. NO. NO.

Anyone who even considers overlooking animal cruelty should be taken aside, and a few strong words dished out.

Animal cruelty is carried out by the lowest of the low.

There is NO excuse for it in any way shape or form.

NONE

No matter what, I dont think cruelty to animals should be allowed. These creatures belong on this planet and have been here just as long as us. It would appear that in this day and age animals have more of a purpose here than man does!

Hi....

I am not going to watch your link, i have a feeling, it will upset me too much!

I would like to mention however......

The Hindu's in Wales, who recently wanted to keep their 'sacred' bull alive, even though it was going to have a slow and painful death, because it had bovine-TB.

They stated it 'was their human religious right, to keep the bull'!!

So, they would rather let the poor thing suffer, for their 'right' to religion?

I posted a question about it on here, i was pleased with many of the answers, regarding compassion for this animal.

I also pointed out, that it was almost actually the 'disease' itself, these people were worshipping, rather that the bull!!

Thankfully, the bull was taken away by the authorities and it was painlessly put to sleep.

What humanity will do, in the name of religion, often disgusts me!!

I love animals and it is against most religions to treat animals poorly, however it is acceptable to kill them to eat, kind of like how it is acceptable for a lion to kill an antelope. Anyway, I don't eat pork, I'm Muslim. Also, you can't generalise all religious people by what is happening to pigs in Taiwan and where in that website does it say that those people committing those acts are religious?

having witnessed a genuine halal killing,
( it wasn't my idea of humane )
i've now decided that no one religion has a monopoly on inhumanity & barbaric practices, when it comes down to bad animal husbandry!
factory farming doesn't have just one nationality & is saddest way to take advantage of domesticated livestock.
is there any need for all this cruelty?

& is why i'm vegetarian.
i want no part in any animals dying.

Animal cruelty in any form is wrong, but especially when performed in the name of religion.

Sign the petition - choose your flower - let's get this kind of thing stopped right now!

No! Cruelty is cruelty it is illegal and should not be tolerated. Those who come to live in this country or are born here must abide by the law. if they do not like it they must follow democratic procedures to change the law or get our and go somewhere where they like it

It shouldn't be overlooked, but then have you ever seen how animals are treated that are being prepared for slaughter? Think about that the next time you're getting ready to bite into your dinner.
