why do people believe in something that is so obviously fake? they make fun of ancient civilizations who thought there were gods of thunder, and love, and oceans etc...isn't that pretty much what christians, catholics, and almost all other religions do?? blame some sort of nonexistent entity as an explanation for their mishaps and shortcomings?

I suppose then, that most modern gods are by definition fake.

I don't know who Told any Of you that God was fake Or why you even think it...but it is not true one bit. go ahead Believe what you want and go your own way don't have God in Your Life/go to church read The Bible and Lets see Ho far you get. let me tell you one Thing if it wasn't for God and Prayers I wouldn't be here Right now i am 13 and in Remmison From Leukemia. if it wasn't for God and prayers My little Brother wouldn't be Here Right Now He Has CP and almost Died When He Was Born( he stopped Breathing). if it wasn't for God and Prayers my 20 Year old Brother wouldn't be Here Either he was in a Bad Motercycle Wreck and also Stopped Breathing.and I can Think of even more things if you wan't me to.The fact is if you wanna Believe that Go ahead Just don't Blab it all Over the Internet.(keep it to Your Self Or ask Somone who believes the Same way. just a little Reminder:

The Divine Descent of God
God descends into this world when it is under the spell of extreme darkness of ignorance, unrighteousness, moral turpitude, spiritual lassitude and religious decrepitude. This is described in scriptures as "Dharma Glani". What will happen next?
The world will not go on like this forever. Somebody has to put an end to all these evils. Otherwise the state of the world will be incomprehensible. This task is beyond the reach of any human being and only one Almighty God can establish lasting peace on earth. Incorporeal God Shiva descends in the body of an ordinary person, names him Prajapita Brahma, and through him, gives the Godly Knowledge and teaches the easy Raja Yoga. He shows the path by which anyone can become completely viceless and most righteous. In this way, God purifies the human beings of the old, impious world and transmutes them into pious ones, creating the Golden Age again.

God is just a concept, an idea, a notion. All concepts are "fake" in the sense that they don't exist as physical realities. The problem people get into is in believing that the concept is a real physical phenomenon. As a concept, god is sometimes useful. The mistake people make is in believing god is real.

human beings have their very own comments, and a few human beings have self belief God is faux. they have their very own motives for believing so. they are not marvelous, nor are they incorrect. The Big Bang maybe did happen but Atheism doesn't explain how or what or who made it happen.
