i think its b/c of the general fear of terrorists out there. i wouldn't reject them b/c i know that everyone is different and you can't judge people based on where they're from.

Oh, I am not sure about that.
I used to live and work in the Mid-East, and was treated as a freind, as a white Brit.
So I have Arabic freinds in the UK who are most welcome to my house, usually small parties.
I am saddened if we cannot get on with all races and creeds.
I have worn the dish-dash and head-cloth to Omani & Kuwaiti do's, much to the hosts' amusement.
I have had folks around in western suits & ties, to my amusement.
Surely that is how we should be.
