Do dreams really only last 2 or 3 minutes?

Because I swear I was up all night looking for my brothers $1300 that he lost!!

Well, 1300 dollars is alot of money, I am sure it is a matter of some importance in your household, perhaps you attached sufficient importance to it as to spend the entire night in recurrent dreams about it, we dream in cycles, several times a night....time certainly does seem to be distorted in dreams, though... I think the dreams we have before waking in the morning tend to be a bit longer than the ones we have early on in the night...
